Mission
L Nour Editions centers artists from SWANA and the Global Majority, including its diasporas, with a focus on practices shaped by histories of colonialism, displacement, and resistance.
We understand the photographic image as a contested space—one historically used to define, categorize, and control. Our work is to shift that ground: to support artists who reclaim the image as a tool for self-definition, cultural memory, and political imagination.
Through the photobook as both form and object, we create spaces for sustained looking and critical reflection—where images move beyond extraction and toward authorship.
L Nour Editions is founded and managed by Egyptian American photographer Anthony Hamboussi.
